Fearless Bengali, Shyam Das, Asansol/Kulti: On Saturday, under the initiative of Bharati Bhawan Parichal Samiti, a special program was organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Birendranath Mukherjee, one of the pioneers in the world of art. State Minister Moloy Ghatak was present as the chief guest at the event. While speaking at the event, the Minister said, Sir Biren Mukherjee's contribution to the development of Indian art is eternal. He said that such an initiative to honor the memory of such a great personality is very important. The Minister mentioned in his speech, Sir Biren Mukherjee strengthened the country's steel industry by establishing 'Bengal Iron'. Later, after the establishment of the foundation of the industry in Kulti, it expanded to Barnpur. Presently this factory is known as IISCO Steel Plant, which later came under Steel Authority of India Limited. The minister said, once thousands of people were employed in this industry and today many families are associated with this industry. According to him, Sir Biren Mukherjee's vision, leadership qualities and tireless hard work were the keys to this success. The eminent personalities present at the event paid their respects to Sir Biren Mukherjee by donating his statue. Throughout the event there was a call to remember the history of art and to convey that history to the coming generations.
