আসানসোল পুরনিগমের বিরুদ্ধে সরব বিরোধী দলনেতা চৈতালী তিওয়ারি

Fearless Bengali: Asansol Purnigam opposition party leader Chetali Thiwari directly raised questions about the role of Purnigam officials and administration. He expressed his anger over the pollution and unsanitary environment that has persisted in many areas of the city for a long time. Chetali Tuwar says, “There is a barricade in front of the hospital. There is a barricade in front of the school – how will small children travel safely in such circumstances?” He further complains that movement in the market and ghat areas has become virtually impossible. Referring to the upcoming Shabbat Barat festival, the opposition party leader said, “How will our Muslim brothers celebrate the festival, when there is so much pollution and foul smell all around? It is the responsibility of the mayor to keep the city clean before the festival.” Chetali Tuwar further alleges that the capital tax is being forcibly collected from the common people living under the Municipal Corporation. According to him, at some places Rs 20 and at other Rs 30 per family are being charged. But we are not getting any services in return of that tax. He raised the question, “If tax money is taken, where is it to be used? What problems will you not solve by taking income tax?” The opposition party leaders claim that if this situation is not resolved immediately, public health and the city environment will further deteriorate.
