Nirbheek Bengali,Asansol: Due to lack of contractors, many developmental works of Asansol Municipal Corporation are stuck, said the Municipal Deputy Commissioner. On Tuesday afternoon, District Magistrate S Punnahabalam held an important meeting with all the councilors and officials of Asansol Municipal Corporation regarding the progress of the project 'Hamar Pada Hamare Samalhan'. The District Magistrate should appeal to the concerned to complete the work quickly in the meeting. Present in this discussion meeting was Asansol Municipal Chairman Amarnath Chatterjee, Deputy Mayor and all the councillors, municipal officials and engineers. In the meeting, Deputy Mayor Waasimul Haq said that many developmental works are not being implemented due to lack of contractors. He appealed to the contractors associated with various municipal departments to work with the government in the 'Our School's Solution' project. This is the dream project of the Chief Minister and necessary funds have already been allocated for the project, he said. The project work has been done according to the needs of the local residents, hence there will be no hindrance in carrying out the work and the local residents will also cooperate, he said optimistically. According to the municipal sources, about three and a half thousand works have been approved under the 'Hamar Paadha Hamare Samalhan' project in Asansole Municipal area and about twenty thousand works have been approved under the Pathashree project. But despite having sufficient funds, it was not possible to complete the tender process as a contractor could not be found to do the work. In this situation, the Deputy Mayor should appeal to all the contractors to come forward to make these development projects of the Chief Minister's dream successful.
