Asansol, West Bengal: During illegal excavation of coal in BCCL's open cast mines in Bodra under Asansol Kulti police station, the news of 6 people getting buried suddenly has come to light. In this incident, till now four people have been taken out of the mine, out of which two people have died, a woman is also included in the dead, the remaining two people were admitted to Asansol District Hospital in a critical condition. There is a possibility of two other people being buried in the mine, and rescue is being done with the help of Poklane machine to bring them out. Apart from the crowd of hundreds of people, a large number of police forces and CISF are deployed around the Bodra Open Cast Mines regarding the incident, the relatives of the deceased are also included in this crowd of people, who are crying in bad condition, while it is also seen that some coal mafias are talking about the dead bodies. They are continuously trying to drive away the family members from the spot, but the family members of the deceased are not moving away from the spot. They are waiting for a glimpse of the bodies of their relatives in any case. They are hopeful that in this incident, their family members may be alive and the administration will save them. This incident is not new in the area. Even before this, incidents of chaul collapse in this coal mine of Bodra have come to light many times, due to which many people lost their lives. Despite this, the illegal excavation and smuggling of coal from this mine by the coal mafia has not reduced and the work of extracting 3 to 4 trucks of coal every day and storing it in the coal kilns located in the area is going on in full swing.
