CBI searched the houses of officials at 12 places including Kolkata Asansol. All of them were close to Lala. It is believed that the money from Laalar Coal Traders has been invested in the market through them.
In the midst of income tax investigation regarding iron theft, CBI started investigating the coal smuggling case in the state. CBI is investigating a total of 12 addresses including Kolkata Asansol since Thursday morning. CBI investigated to know how Lala's black money changed hands.
Since Thursday morning, four cases have been called by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigating the addresses of close ones. Detective officers of the Central Organization reached several addresses of a businessman named (Kālu), a resident of Asansol, and Kumar, a resident of Durgapur (সৌদ্রভু).
Simultaneously, another team of CBI also visited the luxurious flat of former ICL official Shyamal Singh in Bhabanipur, Kolkata. News from sources saying investigation is underway.
According to sources, all of them were close to Lala. It is believed that the money from Laalar Coal Traders has been invested in the market through them. Former ECL official Shyamal Singh claimed that he had provided illegal benefits to Lala in exchange for a few rupees.
CBI has many important evidences in the coal smuggling case. But how the black money of coal reached the beneficiaries is yet to be found out by the investigators of the central agency.
