This district hospital is setting an example by successfully treating many patients ranging from cancer to diabetes in children who have returned to the medical college. In a press conference on Saturday morning, hospital superintendent Dr Nikhil Chandra Das said, "Our doctors are trying their best. Many a times, even critical patients who have returned from the medical college are recovering here. But for some small reason, some patients' families vandalize the hospital - this is very sad. I request you to think twice before vandalizing." According to hospital sources, at present the number of patients of breast cancer, mouth cancer and recently colon cancer due to tobacco consumption has increased at a significant rate. According to statistics from 2021 to 2025, women have the highest rates of breast cancer and oral cancer. Apart from this, children are also being treated successfully for Thalassemia and Diabetes diseases. Present in this press conference were oncologist Dr. Amit Mukherjee, orthopedic specialist Dr. Nirjhar Majhi, surgeon Dr. Ruhul Amin and Dr. Amit Gupta, pediatrician Dr. Rudrinil Lahiri, blood bank in-charge doctor and assistant superintendent Kankan Rai along with other doctors. Super Dr. Das praised all their contributions and said that the district hospital has been able to establish itself as a center of support for the people of the industrial area and the surrounding districts and states.
