Emergency meeting for development of Asansol-Durgapur, emphasis on modernization from smart bus stand to airport

Nirbheek Bengali, Durgapur: To review the progress of various developmental projects in Asansol-Durgāpur region and resolve land-related problems, an emergency meeting was held on Saturday in the building of Asansol-Durgāpur Development Board (ADDA) in Durgāpur. State City and Urban Development Minister Agnimitra Pal, West Vandhaman District Magistrate S. were present in the meeting. Punnambalam, Durgapur Ahead MLA Chandrashekhar Bandhyopa Dhaya, Durgapur West MLA Laxman Chandra Gharui - including six MLAs of the district and top officials of the administration. In the meeting, detailed discussion and review of land related issues, various stalled government projects, incomplete road works and progress of ongoing developmental projects are done. Emphasis is laid on quickly solving problems and taking projects forward. After the meeting, Minister Agnimitra Pal said that many important decisions have been taken to make the development of West Bengal district more dynamic. He said, modern smart bus stands will be constructed in various areas of the district. Besides, special importance will be given to increasing the use of solar energy in government projects. The minister further said that necessary steps will be taken to modernize Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport and increase flight services. Apart from this, where there are allegations of corruption in developmental works, necessary measures will be taken after investigation. He also informed about undertaking beautification and development projects on various river banks of the district, construction of new bridges and planning for infrastructure development. Agnimitra Pal said, "This meeting has been held regarding development work. Several guidelines have been given to the district administration officials and MLAs. Our aim is to develop the West Bengal district in a new form through quick decision-making and project implementation in coordination with the administration and public representatives."
