A youth died and one was injured in a road accident in Asansol, GT Road was blocked, situation normalized after MLA's assurance

Nirbhik Bangla, Asansol: A tragic road accident occurred on Saturday morning in the Kumarpur Bridge area of GT Road in Asansol, resulting in the death of one young man and seriously injuring another. According to local sources, a pickup van collided with two bike riders. Kunal Singh, one of the young men, died at the scene, while his companion, Aditya Sau, was injured. Both were residents of the Banpur area of Hirapur police station. The incident sparked tension in the area, with local residents blocking the Asansol-Kulti GT Road and protesting. As a result, traffic was disrupted for a long time. To control the situation, a large police force and central forces were deployed at the scene. Later, Krishnendu Mukherjee, the MLA of Asansol North Assembly, arrived at the scene and spoke with the protesters. After his assurance, the blockade was lifted, and traffic gradually returned to normal. The police are investigating the cause of the accident and have initiated necessary legal proceedings.
