Nirbheek Bengali, Asansol, West Bengal The political atmosphere in Asansol has become heated ahead of the visit of AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin YC to Bengal. AIMIM has expressed strong anger over allegations of tearing down party banners and posters. According to sources, YC will reach Durgapur in the late night of 12th April and will hold public meetings in various districts of the state including Asansol on 13th, 14th and 15th April. Asansol's meetings are scheduled to be held at Murgasol's Eidgah Ground, Balodhan School Chandmari Ground and ADDA's Institute Ground. Meanwhile, allegations have been raised that some anti-social miscreants have vandalized the banners and posters put up by AIMIM in Ali Nagar of ward no. Political debate has started in the area centering on this incident. AIMIM candidate Danish Aziz expressed anger over this incident and said that his party is being deliberately targeted. His complaint is that even though posters of other parties are damaged, only AIMIM's publicity material is being destroyed. Danish Aziz says, “Do we not have the right to contest elections? Do we not have the right to hold meetings? Even before this, our meetings have been disrupted and there has been opposition during the campaign.” He also leveled allegations against Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers, saying that their meeting was deliberately disrupted by raising the slogan “জয় বাংলা”. However, till now no official response has been received from TMC regarding this allegation. Danish Aziz clearly stated that he will not be afraid of such incidents and will continue the election fight till the end. He said, his aim is not just to work for a specific community, but for the people of the entire North Assembly constituency. Meanwhile, no clear statement has yet come out from the local administration regarding the poster theft incident. Such incidents can increase tension in the area during elections.
