Agnimitra Paul, MLA of Asansol South and minister of the state, inaugurated the MLA Cup Football Tournament today through a grand event in the Narayankuri area of Raniganj. Along with encouraging the youth on the sports field, she launched a political attack from this platform and spoke out about the current situation and future course of action of the state.
At the very beginning of the event, highlighting the development blueprint of the current government, she stated that a government is established in the state which is entirely dedicated to the welfare and development of the common people. However, expressing regret, she said that some opposition forces and conspiratorial circles are creating obstacles at every step of the government's people-oriented initiatives. Specifically, regarding the administration's strict measures against illegal parking to keep footpaths encroachment-free and prevent traffic congestion, she said that whenever such disciplinary work is done in the interest of the common people, a special circle criticizes the government and labels it as inhumane, which is extremely unfortunate.
Bringing the political and administrative history of the past five decades into question, Agnimitra Paul made a serious allegation that Bengal has been pushed back by nearly 100 years, crushed under the millstone of the long rule of the past 50 years. She claimed that the opposition is still continuing negative politics and does not want the current government to work successfully, so that Bengal returns to the dark ages. However, she warned in unequivocal terms that those conspiracies will not be allowed to succeed in the interest of the people of the state.
Referring to the past tenure of the Trinamool Congress, the minister said that corruption and various kinds of illegal activities had taken an institutional form at that time. She alleged that the web of that syndicate had spread so extensively that individuals ranging from local Trinamool leaders to the ministerial level were directly and indirectly involved in it. Expressing her firm opinion, she stated that although the roots of long-standing garbage and corruption have penetrated deep into society and it is impossible to uproot them in a single stroke, the current government is determined to clean up all the garbage and bring transparency.
Demonstrating an uncompromising attitude regarding law and order and crime control, Minister Agnimitra Paul said, "This is not a crime-prone government like the past, which compromised with criminals. This is a BJP-ruled government where a zero-tolerance policy against crime and corruption is strictly followed." She also gave a clear message on this day that whoever the criminal may be, they will not be spared in the slightest.
