A new initiative has been taken to decorate the city of Asansol. The administration has taken special steps to develop the city's infrastructure and make it cleaner, more beautiful, and modern. On Monday, State Minister Agnimitra Paul officially inaugurated extensive beautification and cleanliness work in the adjacent areas, alongside changing the color of the BNR Bridge on Asansol's busiest GT Road to saffron and white. Present with her at this important event were Asansol Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dilip Mishra and other dignitaries.
Work has begun to clean up the garbage and debris that had accumulated on both sides of the BNR Bridge for a long time. In addition, it has been decided to install digital screens in the area for the convenience of traffic and pedestrians. Not only that, keeping safety in mind during the dark of night, modern lighting arrangements will also be made in various parts adjacent to the bridge. The main objective of this project is to make this extremely important junction connecting Asansol North and Asansol South, as well as this busiest section of GT Road, more aesthetically pleasing.
According to administrative sources, plans have been adopted not just for a single bridge or specific zone, but for the renovation of dividers across the entire Asansol city, providing adequate lighting in necessary places, and the modern beautification of triangular crossings and various roundabouts. Step by step, the work of giving every important part of the city a cleaner and more modern look will be taken forward.
Maintaining this trend of infrastructural development, the government also plans to construct a new flyover in the area adjacent to the BNR Bridge in the future. Currently, the survey work for that mega project is underway with great importance. However, before the work on the major project begins, special emphasis is being given to making the current area clean, garbage-free, and beautifully landscaped so that the general public and tourists benefit.
In this context, while speaking to journalists, Minister Agnimitra Paul said that ever since the new government took office, relentless efforts have been made to give the industrial city of Asansol a new look and rebuild it more beautifully. Alongside the overall beautification of the city, the government is placing equal importance on maintaining cleanliness and building advanced civic infrastructure. She further firmly stated that our goal is singular—to build a new Asansol in a clean, illuminated, safe, and modern form.
