Fearless Bengali, South Dinajpur: Due to bad road condition, there was tension over road accidents in ঘেঙগাপাড়া area of ​​গঙ্গারামপুর block of South Dinajpur district. Around 11am on Friday, angry residents of Nagad area joined the road blockade in ঘেঙ্গাপাড়া area. It is learned that on Thursday, a road accident took place on a part of the approximately seven kilometer long road from তেনগাপাড়া to Bisrail. The complaint says that the road has been in a bad condition for a long time. Locals claim that the accident occurred because of that bad road. In protest against the incident, local residents blocked the road on Friday, temporarily disrupting traffic and creating chaos in the area. Political pressure has started centering on the incident. Due to BJP's complaint, Trinamool Congress and administration's indifference, the road was not improved for a long time. As a result, accidents are happening again and again and ultimately people are forced to take to the streets. In this regard, South Dinajpur district BJP president Swarngi Choudhary said, “We have come to know that the accident happened yesterday due to the bad condition of the road. Due to the indifference of TMC and the administration, this road has not been improved. Nothing gets done without protesting in this state.” On the other hand, Trinamool Congress rejected BJP's allegations. Local district council member and former district president of Trinamool Congress Mr. মিনাল সর্কর said, “The road from ফেগাপড়া to Bisrail is covered under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Due to the central government not giving money for this project to the state for a long time, it is not possible to renovate the road. There is a small black hole in the area, the district council has been informed for its improvement. Hopefully the work will start soon.” He further said, "At present, work on various roads is going on under the Zilla Parishad, including the Pathashree project, from the state government. The work on this road is at a standstill only because the money from the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana is stuck. If the BJP really wants a solution, then they should inform the matter to the central government through their MPs." There is still tension in the area surrounding the incident.
