Durgapur: BJP's West Bengal in-charge and Bihar government cabinet minister Mangal Pandey on Wednesday expressed deep condolences on the demise of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash in Baramati in late January 2026.
According to media reports, the plane carrying Ajit Pawar skidded off the runway during landing at Baramati airstrip and exploded. A total of five people including Ajit Pawar died in this accident. It is being told that Ajit Pawar was traveling in connection with political rallies.
In his condolence message, Mangal Pandey said that the news of Ajit Pawar ji's demise in a plane crash is "extremely painful". He prayed for peace of the departed soul and wished to give strength and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. Describing this incident as extremely sad, Mangal Pandey also expressed his condolences to the supporters and well-wishers of Ajit Pawar across Maharashtra and paid humble tribute to the late leader.
Reactions are coming from across the country on this tragic incident. Many national leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have also expressed their condolences and paid tribute to Ajit Pawar, calling him a "people's leader".
