সাংসদ অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের উদ্যোগে ১৮৬.৩১ কোটি টাকার জল প্রকল্পের শুভ উদ্বোধন

Nirbhik Bengali, Baijid Mandal, Diamond Harbor Piped treated drinking water project has been started to overcome the long standing drinking water crisis in Diamond Harbor town area. It is known from the Municipal Corporation sources that, under the initiative of Sansad Abhishek Bandyopa Dhyay, the work of purifying the water of Hooghly river from Dongariya area and sending it to 16 wards of the municipal area is going on at a cost of Rs. 186.61 crore. Today this project is officially inaugurated at the Diamond Harbor Municipal Corporation premises. Diamond Harbor Police Station IC Mausam Chakraborty, MLA Pannalal Haldar, Municipal Corporation Chairman Shubhrajee Gupta, Municipal Chairman Pranab Kumar Das, Vice Chairman Rajshree Das, Executive Officer Shankar Saha and other councilors were present. Municipal Council Chairman Pranab Kumar Das said, this big project has been implemented due to the inspiration of State Chief Minister মমত্তা বন্দ্যোপা ধয়ায়া and the initiative of the MPs. Hooghly river water from Dongariya area is being purified and supplied through the water reservoir of Newtown, Old Bazaar and Dhanbedriya area. To ease the water problems of the residents, the supply time in some areas has been extended by one and a half hours. The goal is to provide safe and pure drinking water to every household in the city. It is noteworthy that some technical problems were seen in the project in the past but currently the repair work is going on at a fast pace, the city authority said. If the project is fully implemented, it is expected that there will be a permanent solution to the long standing water problems of the residents of the city area.
