On the auspicious occasion of the holy Navaratri, a new horizon of human service and social welfare was unveiled in the industrial town of Barakar. To ensure emergency medical services for the local common people and with the aim of reaching the hospital promptly during emergencies, a state-of-the-art air-conditioned (AC) ambulance was launched under the initiative of the Barakar Greater branch of Marwari Yuva Manch. Dedicating such a public-welfare and lifesaving service to the people on the very first day of Devipaksha has created an atmosphere of joy throughout Barakar and its surrounding areas.

On Tuesday, in a grand inaugural ceremony organized at the very busy and historic Hattala Durga temple premises in Barakar, the auspicious launch of the ambulance was officially marked by breaking a coconut and cutting a ribbon by the chief guest of the event, the Hon'ble Minister of Public Works and Public Health Engineering (PHE) Departments, Government of West Bengal and popular MLA of Kulti, Dr. Ajay Poddar. The massive presence and enthusiasm of local residents were notable in this social program organized during the festive season.

At the beginning of the event, a grand felicitation was accorded to the chief guest by the Barakar Greater branch of Marwari Yuva Manch. Sourabh Agarwal, the president of the organization, extended a warm welcome to Minister Dr. Ajay Poddar by presenting him with a floral bouquet and a memento. At the same time, Sumit Agarwal, the convener of the Manch, honored the Hon'ble Minister by draping him with a traditional shawl. During the felicitation session, other prominent social workers of the area were also applauded for their social contributions.

In his speech as the chief guest, Minister Dr. Ajay Poddar sincerely praised the long-standing social commitment and public welfare work of Marwari Yuva Manch. He said, "Barakar is an important border town. There has been a long-standing need for an advanced ambulance here during emergencies. With the sincere goodwill of the state government and special cooperation from the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), it has been possible to hand over this AC ambulance to Marwari Yuva Manch." The minister expressed hope that equipped with oxygen and modern life-support systems, this ambulance will enable critically ill patients to reach hospitals in Asansol or Kolkata very quickly and comfortably, which will be helpful in saving many precious lives.

Organization officials stated that this ambulance service will remain operational 24 hours a day, and there are also considerations to provide special discounts or free services for needy patients. Present on this glorious day were Mayank Subhasharia, Secretary of the Barakar Greater branch of Marwari Yuva Manch; Natwar Kejriwal, Treasurer; Anup Agarwal, Past President; along with several dedicated youth members of the organization and local dignitaries. The active role of the general workers in managing the entire program was commendable. According to civil society, this ambulance service launched on the sacred lunar day of Navaratri will be considered a bright addition to the health infrastructure of the area.
